Rzeszów City Center and Klif Dom Mody in Warsaw are nominated to the Central and Eastern European Real Estate Quality Awards in the category Retail Development of the Year 2013

Warsaw's Klif. Dom Mody and Rzeszów City Center shopping malls

CEEQA nominees

The malls, which interiors were designed by Bose International Planning and Architecture, were nominated to the prestigious Central and Eastern European Real Estate Quality Awards,  as  Retail Development of the Year.

The first, Klif- Dom Mody,  is one of the oldest shopping malls  - it has been present  on Warsaw's  market for 13 years and that is why the owner, together with the investor, Paige Investments, decided on the refurbishment. The building has 18000m2 of retail space. In the elevation and structure of the interiors one can see references to diamonds, which, as a symbol of purity and perfection, faced the designers with a challenge of creating light, original and modern space, which would constitute perfect surrounding for prestigious tenants. In order to achieve the goal set by the owner, the interiors of Klif are finished with best quality materials. The design is well off for direct references to the structure of diamond, which is also exposed in the facade. Perforations in balustrade panels of moving walkway or poles is in fact a processed graphics of the mineral. The diamond inspiration is also present on the bar front panels at the smaller square or information pylon and the new interiors designed by Bose International became full of light and sparkling.

One of the most important goals of Bose International architects was to design a clear, light space, which would make clients feel comfortably and which would provide a friendly atmosphere to make shopping and spend time.

The second project nominated to the CEEQA award is Galeria Rzeszów City Center, the largest investment in the region. The shopping mall includes over 200 shops and commercial points located on three levels. The work was commissioned by Ryszard Podkulski, the owner of the complex.

The priorities of the concept design resulted to  a great degree from conditioning of the building, such as relatively small amount of daylight in the public spaces. Owing to this fact,  light became one of the key aspects. An important element which always must be taken into consideration while designing commercial public spaces is their uniformity and smooth flow of people inside the building. Those aspects have good influence on tenants' sales. The accepted aesthetics  is very pragmatic and it assumes optimisation of tenant exhibition. It took a long time to work out the layout of the whole arrangement of public spaces and look for characteristic spots, extract or create the most attractive fragments.

For instance, the panoramic lift is covered with light, open-work, multi-faceted structure and is the only defined dominant located in the central square.

Reserved colour settings and white, monochromatic space help exposing shop windows. Whiteness is broken by light and geometry. Thanks to this it was possible to achieve an individual character of the space, which is outstanding in comparison with typical solutions. The most characteristic feature of this design is uniformity of public spaces. There is no hierarchy, no better and worse spaces. Geometry of ceilings, layout of floors, details of railings, linear lighting stretches, soft openings in floor slabs - all that is consequently and smoothly continued in the entire complex.
